MSAs & Latchways joint future in Fall Protection

Latchways MSA

As we come to the end of 2015, we are very pleased to share with you exciting news concerning MSA’s fall protection business. On October 21st, MSA Safety Incorporated completed its acquisition of Latchways plc, a global market leader of innovative fall protection systems.

This acquisition represents an exceptional fit for MSA and for Latchways – from a business standpoint and from a cultural perspective. As a leading provider of permanent, engineered fall protection systems, Latchways has earned a well-deserved reputation for providing innovative, leading edge products that protect people working at heights. It is a company committed to research and engineering excellence, delivering outstanding product quality and providing exceptional customer support. And, like MSA, Latchways is a values-based company dedicated to integrity and honesty.

From a business perspective, this acquisition supercharges the growth opportunities for our newly combined organisation. With offices in three countries and approximately $50 million in annual sales, Latchways provides MSA with greater reach into the wind energy and fixed roofing markets, an industry-leading product line and world-class product development resources. Conversely, MSA has exceptional geographic reach around the world, a strong and well-known brand, and world-class R&D resources as well. Our vision, quite simply, is to leverage the synergies and best practices that both organisations have to offer in order to provide you with the best and most innovative customer solutions available in fall protection.

We fully expect that the combination of our customer relationships, engineering capabilities, marketing expertise, and distribution networks will provide great new opportunities for our combined organisation. As such, our focus will be on expanding our collective product technologies to better serve you in the global oil, gas and petrochemical, industrial, fire service, utilities, telecom, construction, and aircraft segments.
